A Bridal Floristry Masterclass in Czech Republic

A day of flowers, creativity and bridal inspiration in the beautiful surroundings of Marienbad.

I recently had the pleasure of travelling to the beautiful town of Marienbad in the Czech Republic to lead a special Bridal Floristry Masterclass, and what a wonderful experience it was!

I was warmly welcomed by my former Berlin Flower School student, the creative mind behind the beautiful floral label Kytky z Vilky. It is always such a joy to see former students developing their own businesses, following their passion and creating opportunities for other florists to learn and grow.

The masterclass was dedicated entirely to bridal bouquets, bringing together a talented photographer, a beautiful model and a professional make-up artist to create a wonderful editorial setting for our floral work.

Throughout the day, we explored three different bridal bouquet designs, each with its own character and personality. We created an elegant waterfall bouquet alongside two light, airy and contemporary bridal bouquets, experimenting with the X technique and the basket technique.

Working with a beautiful selection of flowers, rich burgundy tones, soft blush, delicate neutrals and interesting textures, we explored shape, movement, colour combinations and the art of creating bouquets that feel effortless yet beautifully considered.

The highlight was seeing the finished designs come to life during the bridal photoshoot. Having a model, photographer and make-up artist involved gave us the opportunity to see how the bouquets work as part of a complete bridal look – capturing the details, movement and personality of each creation.

I am incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality, the enthusiasm of everyone involved and the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for bridal floristry.

A very special thank you to my former student and wonderful host at Kytky z Vilky for inviting me to Marienbad and organising such a memorable day. It makes me incredibly happy to see former students following their passion, developing their own creative businesses and bringing their floral visions to life.

It is moments like these that make teaching so rewarding – seeing the journey continue long after students leave the classroom.

Thank you, Marienbad, for such a beautiful welcome. I hope to be back soon!

Love Julia
