My Story
The Berlin Flower School is a creative and international floristry school, open to both beginners and experienced florists. Located in the heart of Berlin, the school offers unique and bespoke courses designed to teach high-end floral design techniques. We take pride in using sustainable methods and sourcing only the finest, highest-quality flowers for our classes, in alignment with the principles of the slow flower movement. All courses are conducted in both English and German, ensuring accessibility for an international audience.

The Berlin Flower School is the culmination of a life lived through the lens of design.
For Julia Gauld-Ritterspach, the journey began in the vibrant, exotic gardens of Nepal, where her early fascination with color and botanical form took root.
This foundational love for nature was later refined through a rigorous academic path at the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, and furthered by a Master’s in Design Management.
Before founding the school in 2017, Julia Gauld-Ritterspach spent over a decade as a design lecturer and head of department at leading institutes in Berlin.
This extensive background in education is what she brings to her students today: a structured, professional, and deeply pedagogical approach to floral art. She does not merely teach how to arrange flowers; she teaches the principles of art direction, color theory, and the management of high-end design concepts.
