A Meaningful Milestone: My Second Feature in Bloom's View

There are certain moments in a creative career that feel especially meaningful—not because they celebrate success alone, but because they acknowledge years of dedication to developing a personal design language.

I am incredibly honoured to be featured for the second time in Bloom's View, one of the most respected annual trend publications for professional florists. Unlike monthly trade magazines, Bloom's View appears only once a year, bringing together innovative ideas, emerging trends and inspiring floral concepts from designers across the industry.

Being invited to contribute once again is a privilege that I do not take for granted.

My first feature introduced my book Seasonal Wedding Flowers and highlighted my work as a trend forecaster and educator at Berlin Flower School. This year's feature feels like a natural continuation of that journey, presenting four pages dedicated to one of floristry's most emotional and challenging disciplines: funeral flowers.

For this editorial I created one contemporary coffin design alongside five distinctive urn arrangements, each exploring a different interpretation of remembrance. Some designs embrace timeless elegance through restrained colour palettes and refined compositions, while others celebrate personality with softer, more playful expressions that honour a unique life.

Designing funeral flowers requires a different mindset. It is not about creating spectacle but about creating presence. Every flower, colour and line carries meaning. The arrangements should offer comfort, reflect individuality and help tell a story without words.

Throughout my career I have been fascinated by how design can transform emotion into form. Whether I am creating wedding flowers, editorial installations or sympathy arrangements, my approach always begins with the same question:

What story should these flowers tell?

This project allowed me to explore the growing diversity within contemporary funeral floristry. Families today increasingly seek personal, expressive floral tributes rather than traditional conventions. As designers, we have the opportunity—and responsibility—to create arrangements that feel authentic, beautiful and deeply human.

Being recognised by Bloom's View reinforces something I have believed for many years: floristry is not simply a craft; it is a design discipline. It combines colour theory, proportion, texture, symbolism and emotion into a visual language that speaks when words are no longer enough.
