Day two of the Florist Stylist Course- Modern floristry meets Kimono
Day two of the florist stylist course moved indoors, into the quiet atmosphere of the Berlin Flower School — where the space itself became part of the composition. Instead of working against the elements outside, we began constructing a controlled visual world: suspended floral installations built from vivid gerberas, hanging weightlessly above the set like sculptural forms.
The focus shifted toward styling modern floral accessories and jewellery, exploring how flowers can move beyond arrangement into adornment and identity. Gerberas, often seen as playful or familiar, were reinterpreted here in a sharper, more contemporary way — graphic, architectural, almost cinematic against the interior backdrop.
What made the shoot especially compelling was the tension between two visual languages. On one side, there was an unmistakable reference to the elegance and restraint of an eastern kimono silhouette: softness, layering, gesture, and ritual. On the other, a distinctly modern western floral interpretation emerged through bold proportions, minimal styling, and experimental structure.
The dialogue between these aesthetics created a subtle friction throughout the images — tradition against modernity, delicacy against construction, ornament against form. Flowers became the bridge between both worlds, transforming from decorative objects into something sculptural and expressive.
Inside the Berlin Flower School, the set felt less like a classroom and more like a temporary installation space: immersive, intimate, and quietly dramatic.
