Pumpkin Magic

Celebrating autumn through flowers, natural materials and creative floral design.

During my visit to the Czech Republic, I had the pleasure of leading another floral masterclass, this time dedicated to one of the most beautiful symbols of the season: the pumpkin.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Mlýn Salajna, we welcomed nine enthusiastic participants for a creative day exploring how to transform pumpkins into extraordinary floral arrangements.

Combining seasonal flowers, autumnal colours, interesting textures and the natural beauty of pumpkins, we created individual floral compositions celebrating the richness of the autumn season.

During the masterclass, we explored different approaches to floral design, looking at colour combinations, composition, balance and the importance of working with natural materials. Each participant developed their own interpretation, experimenting with flowers and foliage to create arrangements with plenty of personality and character.

What I particularly love about these workshops is seeing how differently people approach the same materials. Even when everyone starts with the same inspiration, the results are always wonderfully individual.

It was a pleasure to share my knowledge and experience with such a lovely group and to see their creativity unfold throughout the day.

A very special thank you goes to my former Berlin Flower School student and the creative mind behind Kytky z Vilky for inviting me to the Czech Republic and making these wonderful floral workshops possible. It is particularly rewarding to see former students establish their own creative businesses and go on to organise inspiring educational events themselves.

And, of course, thank you to Mlýn Salajna for providing such a beautiful setting and welcoming us so warmly.

I am incredibly grateful for the hospitality, thoughtful organisation and enthusiasm of everyone involved.

Teaching internationally, connecting with florists and creative enthusiasts from different backgrounds, and sharing floral knowledge across borders is something I truly value.

A beautiful celebration of autumn, creativity and the joy of working with flowers.

Love Julia
